2015: Step in Stone
Commission for work relating to the geology of the Mendips for Step in Stone Project, installed in quarries and at the Black Swan:

Deep Time Geo Magnets – Display of fridge magnets based on 16 different microscopic scans of the 4 main rock types of the Mendips

2009 – 2012: Mapping The Jurassic Coast – part of Jurassic Coast Arts Programme
Investigating the archaeology and geology of the Dorset & East Devon coastline. A collaboration with artist Jeremy Gardiner. Supported by Arts Council England research grant. First stage work exhibited a linear panoramic installation of painted panels mapping strategic archaeological sites and underlying geologies of the coastline plus associated research material. Mapping the Jurassic Coast was exhibited: 2009 Dorset County Museum, Dorchester; Bournemouth University, Atrium Gallery and Black Swan Arts, Frome; 2010 Lyme Regis as part of the Fossil Festival.
Second phase work continuing the exploration of the coastline in more detail involved large scale multiple block works focusing on the physicality of the coastal geology – accompanied by large format monoprints by Jeremy Gardiner. Coast Unearthed was exhibited: 2012 Allsop Gallery, Bridport Arts Centre and featured as part of the Earth Festival – a 2012 Cultural Olympiad project.
2007 – 2013: Lost Ways – The Tinners Way
Tracing the route of a lost trackway in West Penwith, Cornwall. Work exhibited: 2007 Art First, Cork Street, London. Solo show; 2008 Brewhouse, Taunton, Journeyland. 2009 Belgrave St Ives – Lost Ways – Solo show. 2010 Gurnards Head, Zennor – Land Marks.
2008: Art & Archaeology – Study Gallery of Modern Art, Poole.
Exhibition with artist Brian Graham and accompanying seminar with artists and archaeologists.
2006: Marks in Time – Black Swan, Frome
Arts Council England supported project working with artists Michael Fairfax and Jacy Wall. Three artists comparing process and the influence of time in the concept and making of work.
2003/4: Haunt – part of the Timeline Project at Sherborne House
Artist in Residence responding to the history of the 18th century Sherborne House and associated buildings, which date from, late Tudor times. Project included creation of a body of work and curation of an exhibition of work by artists inspired by the presence of the past imprinted on a place.

CURATOR
CURATION AND VISUAL ARTS DEVELOPMENT
As a curator I work with artists of many disciplines on exhibitions, residencies, commissions, seminars and projects in both building and non-building based contexts with environment and heritage themes and covering all aspects of arts project development and delivery. Most recently this has been within environment focused and site specific contexts such as the ExLab project and b-side multi media arts festival. This has encompassed programme and event curation and commission management including project concept and design, artist management, support and mentoring, partner liaison, installation, marketing, print and publication design and production.
Strategic development for the visual arts:
Founder member of Big Picture, the visual arts advocacy and collaboration group working with Dorset based arts organisations and long-term member of the Visual Arts South West Steering Group working to support the visual arts in the south west.
Current positions:
b-side:
Curator for b-side commissioning site responsive work for biennial festival of contemporary art. Contributing to festival and symposium curation and programme development.

Sherborne House Arts:
Long term Artistic Director and Curator for Sherborne House Arts presenting contemporary art in heritage context at Sherborne House and developing projects exhibitions, talks, seminars and events that bring high quality visual art to south west audiences and create artist opportunities. NB Sherborne House Arts is no longer operating.

2008: Image + Insight: Investigating process. Exhibition series with accompanying seminars and workshops at Sherborne House. 2006: Colour + Chemistry: An art and science project exploring the theme of colour, bringing together artists, scientists, educationalists and historians in a complete programme of events, which included exhibitions, artists’ bursaries, workshops and seminars. The project looked at the history of colour, pigments and processes and their use in art and interiors as well as new developments in science and technology and what that offers artists today. New work commissioned from Daro Montag, Stig Evans and Balint Bolygo. Sherborne House Arts. Arts Council Funded
2004: Timeline: Project using the history of Sherborne House and the theme of time and memory to inspire a series of exhibitions and workshops and a specially commissioned book and film. Arts Council Funded
